Rockwell Collins Venue™ selected for Nextant Aerospace’s BeechJet 400NEXT cabin
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (January 27, 2010) - Rockwell Collins' award-winning Venue™ high-definition cabin management system has been selected to enhance and modernize
the interior of Nextant Aerospace's BeechJet 400NEXT package. The agreement, which initially includes 30 Venue ship sets,
marks the first aftermarket offering of Venue.
The BeechJet 400NEXT is a major retrofit solution offered by Nextant Aerospace for BeechJet 400A/XPs. The first of these aircraft
upgraded with Venue high-definition cabins is scheduled for delivery in February 2010.
"We continue to set the standard for cabin systems with our first offering of Venue to the retrofit market," said Tommy Dodson,
vice president and general manager, Cabin Systems for Rockwell Collins. "By bringing our advanced technologies such as high-definition
displays and innovative media center applications to this market-segment, BeechJet 400NEXT passengers will now be able to
experience the quality and capabilities they have at home and in the office while in flight."
"Nextant's addition of Venue to the Beechjet 400A/XP adds compelling, state-of-the-art cabin amenities to a light jet that
is typically not so equipped. Among these are dual-channel Iridium satellite phones, broadband Internet, Wi-Fi, high-definition
Blu-ray video, and light-emitting diode (LED) lighting throughout. The Venue is just the latest of a series of Beechjet enhancements
offered by Nextant which include Pro Line 21 Flight Deck replacement and the Williams International FJ44-3AP engine upgrade,"
said James Miller, president of Nextant Aerospace.
The Rockwell Collins Venue BeechJet 400A retrofit will include the following baseline features:
- Two 10.6 inch high-definition arm-mount displays
- Media Center Device with integrated Blu-ray disc and HD Airshow 3D map
- Two Apple iPod® docking stations
- Seven passenger programmable switch panels
